It loses no damage from changing targets as there are no buffs or abilities you need to apply to your target and abilities in the rotation can be moved around with relative ease. Target swapping/ Versatility: You really cannot get better than deception when it comes to target swapping and flexibility of rotation. I don't jump ship when something better comes to the front. This is good advice, I know this because I play Carnage and it's DPS blows.
Marauders (especially Fury) will give you the biggest burst and potential damage output If you are playing regs and want to play a melee. Applying stuns at the right time (as in, not white-barring a healer needlessly for example), interupting the right abilities and conserving defensive/mobility cooldown for the right time are far more valueble skills to have than e few thousand more damage in a burst window. The only thing that matters? Not even close. I can't even count the number of FOTM Mercs and Maras I've killed on supposedly 'weaker' classes.Īlso, burst damage isn't everything in PvP. If you don't enjoy playing it, you'll never aspire to be any good with it either. That being said, don't play a class simple because they have the highest theoretical burst. But like the Assassin, they are squishy and die quickly in group fights or are forced to roll/stealth out.
Their stealth and control abilities coupled with great burst make them the king of 1v1 (Deception Assassin comes in second). If you're going for pure 1v1 capability, I would have to give it to the Operative. Arsenal Merc is probably the easiest since it has a relatively simple 'rotation' and also comes packed with a literal crapton of heavy duty defensive cooldowns. Their burst is insane, but comes at the price of a very involved and spammy rotation and a severe lack of defensive cooldowns. Assassins are great for stealth capping nodes/defending nodes and 1v1 (as Deception), but tend to lose out in group fights.Ĭurrent best burst specs are Fury Marauder, Arsenal merc and Marksman Sniper. I'd say it's average, since it's front loaded burst damage, but at the same time limited by cooldown times and RNG procs.
